How to set up vacant unit automation

Property staff can choose to automate the devices in vacant units to preserve energy and ensure the unit is maintained efficiently while unoccupied.

Follow these steps to set up vacant unit automation:

1. Access vacant unit settings on the "Device automation” tab of the “Settings” page in Ambient.

Note: Only Staff with the role of “Manager” can set and adjust vacant unit automation.

2. Choose a time for the vacant unit automation to run each day.

3. Choose to lock doors, turn off lights, and adjust thermostats. Click Save.

4. A green confirmation message will show when vacant unit settings have been saved.

Note: The settings panel is not dynamic. All three device options are shown regardless of whether the community has locks, switches, and thermostats installed. Also, vacant unit automation does not work with Nest thermostats.
