Non-Ambient door codes
Door codes on unit locks should always be set using the Ambient platform to ensure proper monitoring and use. At times, a door code could be set on the lock prior to connecting to the Ambient platform resulting in a Non-Ambient door code.
Community staff will be notified via email of Non-Ambient door code use on vacant units.
Community staff can see if Non-Ambient door codes are used on occupied units in the unit Activity Feed.
Residents will also be notified of Non-Ambient door code use for their unit. They will be instructed to contact community staff to remove the Non-Ambient door code.
Removing Non-Ambient door codes
In the Manager Dashboard locate the unit where the Non-Ambient door code was used. In the Activity History find the correct activity log. The Remove Code text will open the workflow to remove the code.
Successful removal of the Non-Ambient door code will result in a success message and will be logged in the Activity history. The resident will also receive an email notification of the successful removal of the Non-Ambient door code.
If we were unable to remove the code, an error message will be displayed. Failure to remove is likely due to a connectivity issue, check the connection status of the lock or please contact Ambient support if the issue persists.
